Election funding: EFCC Promised to go after politicians, parties’ bank accounts As Nigerians await the conduct of the 2019 general elections, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is beaming its searchlight on politicians and political parties in a bid to track the sources of funds for their campaigns. A fake pharmacist and drug dealer, Nura Aliyu, was arrested in possession of six cartons equivalent to 300 bottles of codeine syrup and about 142 empty packs sold in Katsina State.   The state’s Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Wakili, while parading the suspect, said he was arrested along Senator Abba Ali Road by Mohd Dikko Stadium.   Aliyu said it was destined to happen, but he regretted his actions.
